Laurence Bervas

(Founder)

My passion about foreign cultures started early and grew with a 16 years experience abroad. As a former journalist in Germany (TV5), I am also passionate about geopolitics, culture, sport, and languages (I speak fluent German & English, good Spanish and a bit of Hebrew).
Back in Paris, I followed my heart and intuition to create a concept that didn’t exist as such. I wanted to treat my teachers as good as my clients and passing along my philosophy of team spirit & excellence. My job, my clients and my Team are a gift.

I have been teaching French as a Foreign Language for 8 years, I lived in Africa, Israël & Europe and traveled all around the world. I am passionate about French history and literature, which I love to share and teach. I have a lot of experience with embassies and an excellent knowledge of politics & economy. Therefore, I adapt my teaching to the learning styles of learners to build their own knowledge because it is the best way for them to learn and appropriate themselves the French language.

Expand your vocabulary, work on your pronunciation, learn French idioms and colloquial expressions, prepare for an exam, have fun, easily understand and practice grammar, talk about you & your environment in French : put everything in a shaker and you get the best language cocktail! That's exactly the mix of skills I'd like to offer you, measuring out the ingredients to meet your needs and ensuring progress. You can trust me that I will do my best to give you the confidence you need.

Although my educational background is in Industrial Engineering, I have worked as a Data Analyst, Quality Assurance Specialist, IT Consultant, and for the past 14 years, as an English Teacher. I've lived and worked in the US, Turkey, Italy, China, and for the past 6 years, in France. This has allowed me to meet people from many different walks of life and gain insight into a wide range of fields and sectors. I have always enjoyed learning languages and so in addition to my native English and Spanish, I am fluent in French and Italian. I am therefore quite familiar with the challenges speakers of these languages often face in learning English. In addition to languages, I have a passion for music. I play the guitar, drums, piano, bass, and harmonica, and have composed over a hundred songs

Nicolas

(English teacher)

I've been a language trainer-coach for over 25 years in and around Paris. With my bilingual and bicultural Franco-British background, I've been able to acquire a wealth of varied experience. First of all, I acquired a solid training in various pedagogical and psychological methods such as Suggestopédie, The Silent Way and NLP, as well as a varied experience in training and coaching professionals in France. At the same time, I worked as a junior human resources consultant, training executives in performance management, expatriation and skills planning for international companies.

Most recently, I was able to take a multi-year neuro-linguistic coaching course with Results Coaching Institute. This training enabled me to integrate coaching techniques into language learning, giving me the necessary tools to increase learners' motivation to learn and therefore their commitment to their training path. My career path has led me to work in transport/logistics, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, marketing, humanitarian aid, the audiovisual industry and, for the past ten years or so, with entertainment professionals working with film, theater, opera, street theater and musicians.
